We discussed Hawking radiation in the GR professor’s office hour, about half a day before the news that Stephen Hawking himself passed away.
I remember sitting at New Sequoia’s dining table, facing south and wanting to freeze more of that moment with me. For a while, I was telling my friends via group chats, and thinking to myself that by missing Cambridge and Caltech, I did miss meeting Hawking for good.
As it washes away, in the end, nothing felt better than being part of an inquisitive community.
