Binary Motion – 1

I have dabbled in romantic imagery in my limericks from time to time, but this is for sure the first piece to be explicitly intended as a love poem. Apologies in advance.

The past rings the future,
before you entered my sight
you were in it.

Gravity holds us afar.
try and forestall him;
we cannot escape him.

As for us?

The past rings the future:
One follows the other.
—Will you fall with me?
—Or can I run away with you?
The past rings the future.

a clueless recital

along twisting strands of world lines.
around bottomless wells of potential.

The universe sure is a patient architect,
he builds for all that is transient;
he builds them through endless eons.
