Sometimes I make jokes, references, or remarks that land strangely1.
If a line of mine ever feels confusing or misplaced, I apologise — the fault is in the delivery, not in your understanding.
We all know different things.
We all come from different worlds.
That Great Gatsby Quote.
I hold that life is too short to treat knowledge as a way to feel superior. I dread over my past (especially early Berkeley) self who was all aloof in meetings and in class. Having a few extra references or niche interests never makes a person “above” anyone else.
Our differences are what makes meeting each other interesting — even in one-time encounters where fate brings us together briefly and then we each move on.
Please never take a (sometimes complex) reference or observation that I contribute to our conversation as a sign of malice.
In most stories I’m just a passer-by. How could I expect more?
Use your short time well2.
Do good things.
