Waking up,
I had breakfast before sunrise
Long and slow.
The other side, still vacant.
I went back to bed and headed off somewhere far.
The snooze alarms on my wrist buzzed every
Nine minutes
Why bother with it when the sleepy head is strong.
Snooze alarms were rather like boosters, every
Nine minutes
A glance at reality, then I head off somewhere farther.
It’s a dream all right.
I walk hallways with perfect familiarity that, waking I know not.
I love people with perfect determination whom, waking I know not.
I was not a butterfly but for sure was not me.
Every
Nine minutes
I forgot who I was and
I forgot who you were.
